It is the process of taking blood from the patient, separating the growth factors in the platelets, which are the clotting cells found in the blood, and then injecting them under the skin. These growth factors have an accelerating effect on wound healing and increase the amount of collagen in the skin.

How is PRP prepared?
A blood sample of 10-50 ml is taken from the patient as needed, this blood is separated twice with special disposable tubes and centrifuge devices to remove unwanted parts. The separated 2-5 ml portion is mixed with a substance that breaks down the platelets and releases the growth factors inside them and is prepared. PRP is not a drug, it does not contain any other substance other than the person's own blood. Unlike drugs, its effect is limited to the area where it is applied.

How does PRP treatment work?
Platelets have a high growth factor content. These growth factors stimulate wound healing and tissue regulation. PRP is a method that provides skin renewal in the most effective and natural way, similar to the effect of wound healing.

In what cases is PRP used?
This treatment is most commonly used for skin rejuvenation, hair loss, acne scars, and the reduction of skin cracks and scars. It is also used in chronic tendinopathies such as tennis elbow, osteoarthritis, muscle injuries and knee ligament injuries, and has been shown by numerous studies to be much more effective and safer than cortisone or hyaluronic acid injections.

At what intervals and for how long should PRP be applied?
We apply PRP in our clinic for skin renewal and rejuvenation in 3 sessions every 2-4 weeks. Combining it with mesotherapy at intervals increases the success of the treatment. We also recommend an application at the same periods for the prevention of hair loss and strengthening.

What are the side effects of PRP?
Since PRP is prepared entirely from the person's own tissues, no serious side effects such as allergies are expected. After the application, a redness occurs in the area where the application is made, and this redness can last for 1-2 days in some patients. During this period, ice application and a painkiller such as paracetamol may be necessary.
