Arm Lift

Aging and frequent weight gain and loss cause sagging to a greater or lesser extent on the inner arms. In patients with advanced sagging, a so-called ‘wound wing’ appearance may occur.

Arm lift surgery is performed under general anesthesia or local + sedation anesthesia. During the surgery, liposuction is first performed on the sagging area to remove excess fat tissue and provide skin loosening. Then, depending on the severity of the sagging, the skin and subcutaneous tissues previously determined are removed from the muscle. There are three types of scars that will remain here. In the armpit, on the inside of the arm, extending from the armpit groove to half of the arm, or extending to the elbow. The length of the scar is directly proportional to the degree of sagging.

There is no need to remove stitches after the surgery as the incisions are repaired with dissolvable stitches. The arms are wrapped with an elastic bandage and a bandage or special corset is used for approximately 3 weeks. Heavy exercise should not be done for 4-6 weeks; other than that, all movement is allowed.
