Midface lift

Midface lift is a surgical procedure to correct lower eyelid puffiness and hollowness, and to reduce the lines between the nose and the corner of the mouth especially targeting those in their 40s. When necessary patients could be treated with a combination of midface lift and fat transfer for better results.

Mid-face lift under local or general anesthesia?
Midface lift can be done under local anesthesia or general anesthesia. I prefer to conduct the operation under general anesthesia which requires one night stay in hospital

Any visible scars after the operation?
This operation performed via a 2 mm incision just below the lower eye lid which leaves barely any scars. Sometimes it is necessary to use small cuts inside the mouth which also leaves no visible scars.

What about the post-operative recovery?
Some swelling and bruising is normal after the midface lift. The majority of swelling (80%) will disappear within two weeks after the surgery and the 20% within 3 to 6 months. Bruising resolves after 10 to 14 days. Midface lift does not generate much pain. Discomfort can be treated by painkillers. Most of our patients are back at work about a week after the surgery.

How long do the results of the midface surgery last?
Midface lift can make you look 5 to 10 years younger. Of course the face will continue to age but the results will not fade away.
